“Many times momentum is the only difference between winning and losing. With it, everyone is expectant and energized, and people tend to perform at their peak potential. Without it, people lose heart and have difficulty finding motivation.” – John C. Maxwell
Have you ever felt that you lost your motivation and your momentum?
TRUTH: Sometimes I have.
It felt as if I took a punch in the passion gut, and was bent over. While I was on the path to one of my life’s biggest goals-my doctorate-life's challenges, like a ton of bricks, unloaded on me. Now, let me put this in perspective for you.
I’m just like you. I came from small beginnings, have big hopes and dreams, and want to help as many people as I can along life’s way. But I lost my MOJO, my motivation, and I just wanted to come home and escape. Watch a move, have a drink, and just make world go away.

“Where do I fit best?” Have YOU ever asked that?
This question, along with many others like it, have been asked.
-Is there a job tailored just for me?
-Where will my gifts and talents be used to their fullest?
-What can I do to find my perfect place where I work?
So, are you where you “perfectly fit”? Many are not, and surprisingly, have worked that way for YEARS!!!
During the mid-twentieth century, researchers like Katherine Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs-Myers, John Holland, and David Keirsey, investigated person-environment fit and person-job fit. (PE fit and career development theories)
Millions of people have taken personality- and career-based assessments created by these theorists. Have you heard of the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), Holland’s Career Wheel or Holland’s Codes, or the Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS-II)?
I highly recommend taking these informative assessments. They will enlighten you...
Your PERSONAL POWER is multiplied and amplified when you:
-Truly accept and believe it…
-Grow and develop it…
-Use it to help others!
What exactly is your “personal power” anyway?
There are different definitions such as:
-Your integrity and ethics
-Your internal and external strengths
However Brian Tracy, one of the top sales trainers and motivational speakers in the world, has a Personal Power Formula…
YOU x Your Relationships=Your Personal Power
According to Tracy, your personal power grows by being “people-centered”. You have a tribe just waiting on you to influence their lives, hopes, and dreams! You just have to locate them through tribe tryouts.
Intentionally seek out those that welcome you, your message and your gifts.
Remember in our previous blog post that you have:
You have your own unique story, so learn to tell it powerfully and succinctly. Create an abbreviated...
(Note: A FREE Report for you is at the bottom of this BLOG)
Now, I must confess something personal about myself to you…
I am a super-hero junkie! I have been an avid fan of DC Comics for years (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.) and of recent times, the Marvel franchise.
After just seeing The Avengers: Endgame, I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY! Loved it!
Okay, let me calm down a bit…just breathe, John. Before it leaves the theaters, I will probably watch it 2-3 more times with family and friends.
Now, I won’t be a spoiler; however, the word, “Endgame” has been rolling over and over in my mind.
Now, the definition of the word relates to strategic games, such as Chess or Risk, where there are few pieces left, and the players have a “hidden” plan or strategy to pull out, defeat their opponent, and win the game.
In business, it may be considered a plan (or bulletproof backup plan) to achieve...
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" –President Theodore Roosevelt
*By the way, I will continue the 4-part series starting next week about how to have a paradigm shift in your life. (Picking up on Part 3 then) I wanted to write this 2019 New Year blog in between.
Beginning a New Year brings delight to some, but to others, it's just another date on the calendar. One person might love the idea of a fresh start, while another dreads it.
What does it mean to you?
Someone once said, "Life is what you make of it". How do you and I view it? I love sunrises. It's a matter of fact, I am in Florida right now and took pictures and videos of the sunrise on the beach on the East Coast side. Seeing the bright new day symbolizes new beginnings, fresh starts, new days, etc. It's a life mulligan if you will.
Now, I'm writing this blog post with a few major things in mind:
First, I need a fresh start because we JUST experienced a tragedy. Our motorhome...
Everyone likes to win, but why do so few believe that they are really winning in life? Could it be that sometimes we see our flaws and foibles so prominently, when we need to see the incredible strengths that we possess?
Another reason I find consulting individuals is the "Mental Money Obstacle". Potential rising star leaders don't tap their own creative ideas or know how to uncover them and bring them to full commercial value.
Money is not your biggest problem; creative ideas and uncommon strategies are your problem.
You need to discover innovative ways to address your situation. Read success stories of those online who have launched new company startups, begun community or global initiatives, or designed breakthrough inventions. It’s called being resourceful. Thinking WAY BEYOND the box, not just outside it.
Paradigm shifts begin with mindset shifts!
It may be approaches such as asking confidently for help from a higher-level leader, breaking down your...
