How to Know and Grow Your Unique Gifts & Truest Calling! (Part 1 of 3)

Dr. John Maxwell, one of my mentors, once said, “You have to know the way, grow (in) the way, to show the way!”
But, how do you grow something you aren’t fully aware of?
A few of the MOST common questions that are asked of leaders today are:
“How can I know what my purpose is?”
“How do I discover my true calling?”
“How can I find out what I really am called to do?”
No matter how you ask it, the question haunts and plagues millions around the world. Have you been asking one of these questions?
The renowned psychologist, Dr. Abraham Maslow, said in his seminal work," The Theory of Motivation":
“Even if all these needs are satisfied, we may still often (if not always) expect that a new discontent and restlessness will soon develop, unless the individual is doing what he is fitted for. A musician must play music, an artist must paint, and a poet must write if he is to be ultimately happy. What a man can be, he must be. This need we may call self-actualization.” (Self-actualization is the ability to discover what you were created and designed to do, and doing it! To become your best self.)
So many have difficulty discovering their calling that they actually are deeply troubled by it. If you are a Christian or religious person, this is a deep-seated concern that eats away in your soul.
Therefore, It’s not dying many are afraid of, but rather did I REALLY LIVE.

Okay, let’s talk about YOUR GIFTS AND CALLING:
You should know that:
- Your gifts are your innate God-Sent Blueprint or your Divine Design
My motto, “To be your best, you must assess!” Anyone that knows me knows this about me.
You must search inside yourself-like going on a treasure hunt in order to uncover the gold inside yourself. This means taking specific assessments and introspective work that help you discover and develop your gifts and talents that are within.
- Your calling flows out of your gifts and strengths discovery and development
A talent is a raw gift that must be joined with specific knowledge and skill-sets to develop it to its fullest potential. My dad used to say, “Son, practice doesn’t make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect!” You see, you can “practice wrongly” and never accelerate your gifts and talents to their fullest. We’ll address this in future emails.
You should be able to call upon the gifts and strengths that you possess at any time and employ them to their optimum level. As well, to utilize them to their fullest commercial value!
If you are not, then you have not completely tapped into your Divine Design.
You are becoming permanently what you practice daily. What are you practicing perfectly to become?
